I am having a hard time identifying what exactly this option accomplished
in t execution statis monitoring

Can you provide more information on the Eclipse and TPTP versions you

Its an option on the monitor tab for execution statistcs. Eclipse 3.2
something. TPTP 4.2.1

Execution Statistics is used to determine the amount of time spent
inside each method of the profiled application. It has 2 modes of
operations:
- Summary (the default): summary information only. No "call tree"
information. Less overhead.
- Execution Flow Graphical Details: shows the relationships between
method invocations and allow that fancy views like execution trees and
UML sequence diagrams. High overhead. Should be used only with extensive
filtering to get meaningful results.
