I installed M4 this morning, and after playing with it for several hours I
cannot get it to function in a useful or understandable way. I have been
using M3 since its release with great success, but I don't appear to be able
to create a working project under M4. The issues I have had are:
1. There no longer appears to be non-flexible projects. I guess this is
alright, but I have followed the project pretty closely and didn't realize
this was coming. Is this intended, or am I missing something?
2. I cannot create a J2EE Web Project. The only thing I can do is create a
flexible Java project, and then add J2EE WebModules to it. Is the intent
that I create a Java Flexible Project with server runtime support, and then
just add source folders to it using the flexible project descriptor?
3. I cannot create a Flexible Java Project anywhere other than in my
workspace. I can change the project location in the creation wizard, but
the project still gets created in the workspace. This is really bad, as I
don't want any of my projects contained in my workspace.
Have others experienced these problems, particularly the last one? Are
there known work arounds? I won't be able to use M4 if there isn't a way to
work around #3.
Thanks!
Nathan

No, it is just the project orginization makes sense for my work. I work
with several languages and tools, so having my Java project be the top
orginizational level doesn't make that much sense. I prefer to have one
workspace, with several decentralized projects outisde of that workspace.
