look if the .lock file is there. If it is and the workspace is not
really in use - delete the file and try again
If it is iin use and you delete the file - you'll be in trouble

That means there is a .lock file in the workspace directory. Eclipse
creates this file whenever it is running, so it is most likely that
another instance of Eclipse is already running somewhere attached to
that workspace directory.

Also, note that Eclipse is not supported with a workspace on a non-local
drive. It might work, but chances are it will not perform well.

Simply create a project and then right click create a new folder give a name
go to advanced option and link it to a file system i.e. you network drive
