Defining new path variable on MAC OSX [message #94548] |

I am trying to move an existing Java project from Windows to MAC OSX 10.2.6
with Eclipse 3.0 M3. I have no problems importing the project in question
into the workspace on the MAC. However I need to define a classpath variable
since I have about 20 jars in my classpath all referenced using the same
classpath variable. I have tried the two following approaches to creating
the required variable:
1. Use Windows->Preferences->Java->Classpath Variables. When the definition
dialog appears I type in the name of the variable and use the file browser
to navigate to the location which is on a share on a Linux machine. When I
return from the navigation the appropriate path is filled in but I have a
diagnostic stating that "variable name must be entered" and the OK button is
disabled. Since I can see the variable name in the dialog this is puzzling.
2. Use Windows->Preferences->Workbench->Linked Resources and select the
"New" button. Go through the same procedure as described above. In this case
no diagnostic is produced but the "OK" button is not enabled.
Can anyone suggest a workaround for this problem?
