Suppress initial running of report in viewer [message #91485] |

In the viewer, is it possible to suppress the initial running of the
report with default parameter values? This would prevent the report from
running until the user pressed the "run report" button. Ideally, this
would be a configurable option in the report design.
We are using the viewer and its ability to generate parameter controls as
a primary delivery point and have lots of reports that really have no
value running with default values. Some actually take 20-30 seconds or
more to render, so it's a double whammy to the user.
Does it make sense to provide a setting in report designer to tell the
viewer to render the parameter controls for the report, but not run it
until the user presses "Run Report"? I'm happy to do a bugzilla entry if
this makes sense.
