Metadata for dataset creation [message #88695] Tue, 08 November 2005 09:19 Go to next message

Hello all;
Is there any way to "turn off" the gathering of available tables, views,
and columns when one goes to edit a data set? We will most often be using
stored procs and SQL generated from other sources to define data sets and
don;t wish to incur the overhead of gathering this data.

Any help appreciated.

Pete,

I assume using the Data Set filter is to late for what you are wanting.
I think the list is repopulated everytime you open the data set, and without
changing the source code I dont see a way of doing this.
Might be a good idea to put this in Bugzilla as an enhancement request.

Thanks Jason;
Your assumption is correct. I would like for the metadata request to be
configurable i.e. available as an option for the developer to "turn on"
and "turn off". I'll make an enhancement request. Thanks!
