eclipse 2.0.2, win32
If I paste text from an adobe acrobat document into the general eclipse text
editor, the paste works ... but some number of actions later (not many, but
I'm not clear exactly what the trigger is)
.... eclipse core dumps - meaning the JVM crashes.
I've seen this on win2k and winxp with acrobat readers 5 and 6 with sun
jvm's 1.4.1_01 and _02. I originally found it in my own TextEditor
derivative, but it is reproducible in the generic editor
Any suggestions on how to debug it? I wouldn't know where to start with a
jvm crash
THANKS

Using eclipse 2.1.0, win2K, cut-and-paste works for me.
I have some questions:
* What are you trying to paste? Any funny characters?
* Is there anything related to this problem reported in your workspace's
..metadata/.log file?
* What JDK are you running on, can you try with another?
* Does the problem also occur when you run eclipse as a runtime workbench?
It may not be the VM that is crashing, but it is more likely it is some
native method.
When you say "core dumps", what do you mean?

You should file a bug report in bugzilla against Platform Text. Also
- test whether this happens with non-Eclipse editors as well (e.g. Notepad).
- check if there's something in your workspace's .log
