I dont think this is possible. The ODA needs to return a record set, with
metadata.
You would want to use the Design Engine API to programmatically build
complete reports or report snippets. That is not to say you could not call
the DE API in an ODA, but the ODA is built to be used while creating the
report in the designer. There is one example on the DE API in the examples
section and look at this page for more details
