AGR: Test case continuation in case of Verification Hook indicates a failure [message #80724] Tue, 15 August 2006 03:46 Go to next message

Hi,

test case execution does not stop after a Verification Hook indicates a
failure. Is this intended or is it a bug? I just wanted to add some
Verification Hooks at the beginning of a test case to check whether or not
some preconditions are met. Even if those VHs indicate failures, the
subsequent test script commands are executed.

It was intentionally designed to continue even after the failure of a
verification hook. The reason was that it would give a test case a chance
to tear down the environment that it setup. Tearing down the environment
will ensure that subsequent test cases wouldn't fail as a result of the
footprint left behind by the failed test case.
I can see that your use case is valid too. There is an enhancement open
that will allow users to specify test case invocations whose failure will
result in the interruption of the test suite's execution:
