Adding a "design label" to a link [message #80513] Thu, 23 November 2006 12:17 Go to next message

Hallo,

I would like to add a design label (non-readable, not-stored in the
domain) to a link. But it doesn't work for me. If I add a design label to
a node, everything works like I would expect.

So my question is: Is there a way to add a design label to a link or is
this not possible at the moment.

Cheers,
Jörg

I guess 'ship destination' link in TaiPan sample has the label you need.

Thanks for your answer!

But I think the 'ship destination' link correspondens to EReference
destination in the ecore model. But I don't want to change my model, I
just want add a label to a link without changing the underlying model
file. Something like the 'Note' you can attach to every object. This is
not stored in the domain file, but in the diagram itself.

Yes, and it has design label as you've just asked.

Ah, ok. I see.
A Label Mapping without a reference to a 'Feature' _is_ a design label.

Is there a difference between a design label of a node and a design label
of a connection?
For a design label of a node, I just added a label to the corresponding
figure in the gmfgraph file. I didn't need to reference the label to the
gmfmap file. I assumed that this is ok, because I already referenced the
node in the gmfmap. But for connections it seems to work differently?

Cheers,
Jörg
