TPTP stops processing events [message #79325] Tue, 01 August 2006 07:41 Go to next message

I am using TPTP 4.2 (Callisto) to profile a standard Java web application
running in Tomcat 5.5. All seems to be working fine, but TPTP just stops
processing events after some thousands of events/some seconds during
execution and won't start processing again until I detach and reattach to
the agent. I don't have any data collection limits set.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Are you using the Integrated Agent Controller (i.e. Local Direct
Connection) or the Agent Controller? If you're using IAC, try switching
to the Agent Controller. See section 4.0 of this document:

I am using the standalone Agent Controller.

At some point I selected the option "Collect boundary classes excluded by
the filter set" with the default depth of 1, and this seems to have solved
my problem. The data collection doesn't "stall" anymore and a lot of
relevant classes are included now, so the statistics are actually much
more useful.

Of course I am not sure that this option solved my problem, but before I
set it I tried so many times without success and now it works perfect.
