I'm trying to background color items in a TreeViewer, by setting a
LabelProvider that implements a IColorProvider. It builds fine, although the
colors never appear.
Any hints?

Obviously, this a problem with our client-side Tree implementation. The
colors are rendered to the client but not displayed. Unfortunately, there
is no simple fix for this problem right now. You can set yourself cc on bug
218420 to track progress.
