Hi All,

The web viewer which comes along with BIRT generates some web page when we
try to preview the report in HTML or PDF

I noticed that it generates some URL like this below:

http://127.0.0.0:63247/viewer/run?__report=c:\eclipse\worksp ace\MyFirst\new_report.rptdesign

What i did was from some other pc in the netork I gave a htt

http://<myip> :63247/viewer/run?__report=c:\eclipse\workspace\MyFirst\new_ report.rptdesign

This works !!!!, I can see the report from some other PC.

The only thing which happens is that the port number (63247) changes
everytime you restart your eclipse version.

Is there some way to prevent this ?

Ashish,

Download the standalone BIRT engine birt-runtime-1_0_1.zip
and deploy it to Tomcat or some other application server.
Move your report to the new application and it should work.

Yes. You can control the port number by preview prefernce setting. The
default port number is zero, which will be dynamically assigned by the
system.

Report developers can use this feature to share their works even before the
report is deployed.
