Hi all,
I've been getting a number of request from current users of Tigerstripe that
ran out of a license key by Dec 31st, 2007.
The fact is that we are still going through the Legal approval of some of
the 3rd party libraries that will be redistributed as part of Tigerstripe
plugins so we cannot provide builds based on the open-source stream yet.
In the meantime, to avoid lack of support, I have just posted a 2.2.4 build
of Tigerstripe on the old site http://www.tigerstripedev.net/. This release
should be considered as an "interim release" to be used until we have the
"go ahead" from Eclipse legal.
Please note the following:
- this release is a bugfix release compared to the previous public build of
Tigerstripe on the same site, but only supports Eclipse Europa (3.3.x).
Tigerstripe projects created with a previous version of Tigerstripe will be
usable transparently with this new build.
- it is not made available through any Update Manager Site. You will need to
download the provided .zip file and unzip on top of an existing Eclipse
Europa install.
- this build is based on the src code that was released on the Eclipse CVS,
and doesn't require a license key file to start.
This is the last build provided with the com.tigerstripesoftware.* API.
Beginning with the open-source builds, the API has a new namespace
org.eclipse.tigerstripe which means existing "tigerstripe plugins" (e.g. the
OSSJ plugins) will need to be updated/upgraded. We will coordinate with OSSJ
to ensure smooth migration.
Please make sure you've subscribed to the tigerstripe-announce mailing list
for further announcements.
Cheers,
Eric
