[ATL] Jar files instead of plug-in dependencies? [message #69242] |

Hi all,
in the plugin org.eclipse.m2m.atl.engine, there are two jar files in
the lib directory, for example:
org.eclipse.gmt.tcs.injector_1.0.0.jar
org.eclipse.gmt.tcs.extractor_1.0.0.jar
These sound like other Eclipse plug-ins. Why aren't they shipped
separately, using normal plug-in dependencies?
Cheers,
Matthias

Hello,
Note that it may be more appropriate to have discussions between ATL
developers like in this message, and in the previous one (about "Copy
Ecore Files.launch") on the m2m-atl-dev mailing list.

These files are there for historical reasons.
They will definitely disappear in the near future, and be replaced by
plugin dependency.
However, TCS is proposed to be part of TMF instead of GMT. Therefore, it
may make more sense to perform this change only once (i.e., ATL
depending on TMF, without previously depending on GMT).
Best regards,
