Hi, All.
We tried to find out, which option will influence the following behavior:

- in my installation of E 3.0.1, if I open a Java source file with the
Java editor, and then if I select some element, for instance a method in
the outline-view, I get the element selected.

- in my colleague's installation, if I select the element, only this
element is shown in the Java Editor, and the rest of the Java source file
is hidden.

Does anybody know how to influence this? Comparing the exported settings
gave us too many differences.

Thanks in advance, Philipp

From Eclipse Help:

To display the selected Java file in a single element view, click the
"Show Source of Selected Element Only" button in the workbench toolbar,
so that it is pressed.
To display the selected Java file in a whole (non-segmented) view, click
the "Show Source of Selected Element Only" button in the workbench
toolbar, so that it is not pressed.

Bye

Thanks for the answer! We where somehow convinced
that it would be in the preferences.

Would it not be nice, if switching the option could as
well be done through right click in the outline? If there
is the same icon, one would then easier discover that this
item is present in the "cool bar"

All the best, Philipp
