For a simple answer - because the beaninfo is targeted at JDK 1.3
levels. See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=46283

That being said, you can drop a JSpinner in the VE by selecting the
class in the Choose Bean dialog.

Thanks. I figured out I could drop it. Didn't realize 1.3 had been the
target.
