Add Required Bundles doesnt add the required bundles [message #65950] Sun, 28 June 2009 06:50 Go to next message

Based on what I m seeing when using OSGI with import-packages, Run -> OSGI
Framework -> Click on Add Required Bundles doesnt get the required bundle
list correctly even especially when theres jar hell involved.

This fails consistently on both 3.4 and 3.5 I can provide a detailed
failing example if reqd. But before that want to make sure this mechanism
is expected to work.

Going to View Plugins and hitting show dependencies however shows the
correct dependencies.

Banks

Please file a bug against PDE with the nice detailed steps :)

http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug_wizard.cgi?product=PD E

We may be able to fix it for 3.5.1, depending on what the issue is.

Also, can you define "JAR Hell" :)

C ==> A(1.0)
C ==> B
||====> A(2.0)

Thats what I mean. Different versions of the same jar being used in the
running system. I havent noticed this problem happen otherwise. Thanks for
the quick response please let me know if there are other details required
about setup/version #s/build IDs etc..
