The Snippets view is nifty, and today I discovered the PrependInsertion
feature, and saw how with no more than an extension you get the dialog that
lets you fill in attributes.
However, there seems to be a bit of overlap with the Templates feature as
used in Content Assist. The SSE editors don't seem to include templates in
the content assist options the way the Ant editor does.
I was wondering if there are any plans to combine these features either for
the user or for the developer. Something (largely) schema-driven would also
be cool.

Yes, we first did this work before templates was even public in the base, so
didn't worry too much about it during our first generation. Now that templates
are public, we hope to have better integration with them. We have not, though,
looked at in detail to determine how, or how much effort, it will be do do so.
Our major objective for investigating it, is to give the end-user the desired
flexibility and "seamlessness" they would expect. So ... keep your eyes reading
here over the months ahead and perhaps you could review any proposals we come up
with and let us know how we're doing.
