I'm still trying to solve the problem with VE after upgrading Eclipse to
3.0.1. Basically I installed the new VE 1.0.1 and associated GEF 3.0.1 &
EMF 2.0.1 plugins, but the Visual Editor is not an option after booting up.
When I upgraded Eclipse to 3.0.1 I am fairly certain I didn't use the 3.0.1
SDK. According to one person on this list that is why my VE 1.01 isn't
working.
Can I upgrade the Eclipse with the 3.0.1 SDK download after it was upgraded
with the vanilla 3.0.1?

The upgrade manager handles putting it in the right place. There
shouldn't be any problems in that case.
You can see if the Eclipse 3.0.1 SDK upgrade is showing through the
upgrade manager. If it is, great, go ahead and try to upgrade it.
You only need to worry about unzip if you downloaded the zips by hand
from the download sites.

You should be able to upgrade to the SDK, but I don't think you can use
the update manager to do it. You would need to download the zip file for
it, unzip it, and then start with the -clean option.

Would you unzip the dowload right on top of the current Eclipse folder? I
did the upgrade through the update manager and I assume that is where my
problem started.
