Hi, I guess I damaged the .metadata directory in the workspace. Although my
projects are physically there in the workspace directory, they don't show up
in the java perspective/package explorer etc. anymore. How could I recover
these projects?

thanks,
-Kay

Hi,
No problems.
delete the complete .metadata from the file system and start eclipse
point to the same workspace folder.
goto file--> import-> external project into workspace and select the
projects one at a time and press finish
do this for all the projects one by one.

If you just start the process of re-creating the Project(s) using the
same name, Eclipse will recognize that there are already .project and
..classpath files there and use them.

thanks you guys very much...But my cvs info seems lost, and I had some
un-checked in changes before my system crash so I don't want to just check
out the projects from the cvs but somehow relink the local projects with
the cvs repository.

thanks,
-Kay

sharing the project again seems solving the problem.
