I have seen that a report generated by BIRT is viewed in the BIRT Viewer
however i want to directly export the generated report to PDF, Word.?

Is it possible to export to MS Word format using BIRT or any alternative
available?

Also if i donot want to use the designer at all and do all the process
programatically then what should be done.?

Greeting,

BIRT Release 1.0 supports 2 formats, HTML output as a single HTML page and
paginated output using XML-FO via the Apache FOP project.

You could create the report all the process programatically instead of
using designer. Please take a look at my previous reply to another
question "BIRT API".

one of my question which remains unanswered is if i can also export the
generated report to pdf/html without involving the report viewer at all or
if i donot want to save as .rptdesign extension and directly save the
