Hi everybody.
I am having troubles installing the VE plugin. I am using Eclipse 3.0
(Build id: 200402122000 on a Win2K system) and I downloaded EMF 3.0, GMF
2.0 and VE 1.0M2.
After unzipping them to the plugin directory and launching eclipse the
Visual Class is not available in the new menu.
I know it's a newbie question but I couldn't find any topic about it in
help or the web.
TIA
Mauro

a typo is a typing error. your build id 2004021222000 should be a year,
2004, followed by a month, 02 or February, followed by a day of the
month, 12, followed by the time in hhmm format, hours = 22 and minutes =
00, but you have another 0. which digit is the extra digit?
if you expect support, download and install the following:
Eclipse build eclipse-SDK-3.0
EMF Release Build 2.0.0 sometimes called build R200406280827
GEF Build 3.0
VE Stable Build: 1.0M2

You can tell if you did it right because if it was done wrong you would
have an d:\xyz\eclipse\eclipse\plugins directory. Which is wrong.

No it should be a release version. By the way I don't know what is a typo.

after unzipping new plugins, start eclipse with the clean flag to make
it search for new plugins.

Hi, I had same Mauro's problems with same software
(win2k, Eclipse build 200406251208, EMF build R200406280827 and GEF 3.0,
VE1.0M2), resolved with the "-clean" flag.
Thanks.

Hi
As a newbie and have just download the current versions of eclipse, VE and
the depenancies on the download page I too cannot get the visual class to
show itself.
I have even tried the
eclipse -clean option suggested.
Are there any other ideas on what to do as the docs seem to be sparse when
it comes to installing plugins etc.
The reported versions are
Eclipse Platform
Version: 3.0.0
Build id: 200406251208
Which was downloaded on 11th Sept 04.
Thanks
Jeff.

emf-sdo-runtime-2.0.1 (R200409171617)
GEF-runtime-3.0.1 (200408311615)
eclipse-SDK-3.0.1-win32 (200409161125)
VE-runtime-1.0 (200409191449)
As described in the F.A.Q, I've unzipped into the eclipse directory the
downloaded files.
Then I start Eclipse using the -clean option, but I can't find any new
feature in the environment.
Can someone help me?
Thanks!
