Lance,

The SDK has source code and is for developers (SDK = Software
Development Kit). If you just want to use WTP download wtp-1.0M2.zip. If
you want to debug or develop on top of WTP, download wtp-sdk-1.0M2.

does the wtp-sdk-1.0M2 has the source code really packaged?
I can't see any java files (also not in the jars),

Yes, but they're grouped into source plugins according to the two
main features we've created so far. Look under
eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.wst.source_1.0.0 and
eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.jst.source_1.0.0--it's laid out much
like the Eclipse SDK. If you find anything to be missing, let us
know so it can be corrected.
