Hi,

I'm trying to use update manager to pull in m2eclipse, but keep getting stymied by the corporate proxy configuration. I have two machines at work, one is a laptop and has Build id: 20090621-0832 on it. It is working just fine, and I can update packages as I would expect.

I am moving to a desktop (very good thing.. more horsepower and 4 gig of memory not 1 gig) and installed the latest eclipse build on it: 20090920-1017. I have been unable to successfully test the update site for m2eclipse, or any of the standard eclipse update sites. In the .log I see the following:

!ENTRY org.eclipse.core.net 4 0 2009-10-15 09:34:11.260
!MESSAGE WinHttp.GetProxyForUrl for pac failed with error 'An error occurred processing the proxy auto-configuration script
' #12166.

Any ideas?

Hello

At work I am sitting behind an infamous NTLM v2 proxy and I could not
connect to any external site until 3.5.1 when the 'hack' with the
fallback to URL connection was introduced. Automatic proxy configuration
does not work in my situation neither - I had to configure host, port,
user name and passwird for http and https. Besides that I had to put all
internal machines providing update sites to the exclude list.

There are numerous bugzilla issues - some including workarounds - in the
area of proxy configuration. The following bugzilla queries should
reveal the IMHO most important ones:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=ntlm
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=proxy+ configuration
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=196690

HTH
