Is there a detailed documentation of GEF [message #4103]

I'm new to GEF, and it seems that there are many good ideas within GEF,
but it's seems difficult to use it without some sort of a good manual (or
even a detailed javadoc). am i missing something here and the needed
reference is found somewhere?
