Hello everybody.

I have a very strange problem.

I was using 3.0.x Eclipse and today I downloaded Eclipse 3.1.M5a.

I also downloaded the newest versions of my favourite plugins, this is the
list:

- EMF
- UML2
- GEF
- VE
- phpeclipse
- xmlbuddy
- Python http://pydev.sf.net/updates/
- CDT http://update.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/new/

PyDev and CDT were downloaded using 'Software Updates'.

But only xmlbuddy, Python, CDT are accessible for me.
They are listed on: Help -> About Eclipse Platform -> Feature and Plug-in
Details.
But what about all the rest?

What should I do?
untar them again and run eclipse with -clean?

I don't know why but it all worked with 3.0.x

all plugins are said to be working with the newest version of Eclipse

best regrads
Luke

Look at Help | Software updates | Manage Configuration. Some of
installed features are disabled by default (I have to manually enable
GEF SDK and EMF SDK after manual installation in 3.1M5a).

You were right.

They were disabled.

I enabled GEF SDK, GEF Samples and Visual Editor.

But when I create an Example of BasicSwingComponent I receive an error:

Unable to create part: Properties

and then lots of:

An error has occurred when creating this view

and finally:

An error has occurred. See error log for more details.

I also have two empty forms create with titles first:
FreeFormComponentsHostDialog
and second: BacisSwingComponents

but they both are empty - I cannot even close theirs X-Windows

I'm using Linux but since I use SWING it's not a problem...
but errors still appear.

maybe there is sth else to do?

thanks in advance for any help
best regards
Luke

What about `tail -f <workspace>/.metadata/.log` and restart eclipse?
