 Hello,

It would be great if the chart designer included capabilities for
generating charts that show patterns by Geography. For instance:

 - Sales/Product/Product Group by Nation, State, City, etc.
 - Density charts showing sales concentrations different colors per
 prespecified region
 - Charts showing shipping lanes and perhaps modes
 - Charts showing shipping volumes
 - Charts showing shipping networks, product shipments per lane, aggregated
 volume over time, etc.

Executive Dashboard type capabilities would also be very nice.

Here's a pretty cool example from Visual Mining:

I would be glad to help with specification development, design, coding,
 reviews, research, etc.

| Eclipse User | | | | | Hi, Ole
Thanks for the cool example. Yes, a dashboard capability is a key feature we
have heard from many reporting app developers . We are thinking of providing
a dashboard type of layout control in the report designer, and various
gauges and indicators in the charting package. For maps and hot maps that
can drill down to associated data, I think we might need a separate editor
(could be a great extension to the BIRT base platform) from the chart
designer, since the chart designer is more for drawing data visualization
objects, such as bar, pie, line charts, than for drawing maps or GIS
 objects.

We're definitely interested in additional help for development. Once the
project is approved by the board, we'll follow up with you to talk about how
you can participate in the BIRT project.

 Regards

 Wenfeng
