Hi,
While running:
Version: 2022-12 (4.26.0)
Build id: 20221201-1913
on an M1 MAC Ventura 13.2

The task "Initializing PHP tooling" takes about 40 minutes to complete or never.
I cannot cancel it or bypasss it. I have searched other forums that recommend disabling build tasks in the settings menu but these had no effect.

I have upgraded to Eclipse
Version: 2023-06 (4.28.0)
Build id: 20230608-1333

The problem remains. Does nayone have a solution to this problem?

I upgraded to Eclipse and did not face any issues after that

Hello

If you're experiencing a 40-minute delay during "Initializing PHP tooling" in Visual Studio Code on your M1 Mac, try these steps:

Check PHP installation.
Update or reinstall PHP.
Verify PHP extensions and project configurations.
Review VS Code extensions and settings.
Ensure your Mac has enough resources.
Debug for error messages.
Reinstall VS Code and keep it updated.
Consult community forums or consider alternative IDEs.
