In 3.4.1 it is required to append a :* to the view id in the perspective
class. There is a problem when the user is using a different perspective
and tries to show that same view; the multiple instance id is ignored by
Eclipse even though it was passed to showView.

Is there a workaround to make views shown outside the owning perspective
work with multiple instance id's?
