Hi,

I am also interested in a solution to this problem.

I found a conversation on the p2-dev mailinglist (https://www.eclipse.org/lists/p2-dev/msg05427.html) mentioning a solution to the problem. But the information what is exactly needed to make it work is missing.

Tried to replace x86 with x86_64 in the IProfile.PROP_ENVIRONMENTS of the IProfileRegistry.SELF profile before running a UpdateOperation, without success.
