 Hi all,

I need to do, what I think is a very common case, that all the team share
the same Eclipse installation/configuration (AKA same installed plug-ins).

We are developing an Eclipse RCP Application, we all need a bunch of plug-
ins to develop in the project (MercurialEclipse, TestNG, m2eclipse, and
 more...)

But let everyone in the team to configure their Eclipse in the same way is
very annoying and time consuming. So, I want to do it once for my
installation and share it some way with the rest of the team. And now, it is
the perfect moment to do it, as we want to move forward to Galileo.

Until now, what I was doing, is to install all the plug-ins in my eclipse
(not the plug-in :-) but the eclipse of mine), then, put features and
plugins folders from the install location into a zip archive, which I share
with the team. Finally, my teammates download the eclipse package (RCP
development for my case) for their OSs and unzip the archive into their
 dropins folder.

It is good enough, but I think they lost the update functionality. Are they
able to update the plug-ins if they installed them from archive? I don't
 know.

If they are not able. Can I fix it just exporting my update sites so they
import them into their eclipses? Is p2 smart enough to match every installed
plugin with its imported update site to perform an updates check?

Please if I'm wrong let me know, or tell me if there is a better way to
 address it.

 Thank you very much.
 Gaston.
