Looking for description of CDT "Project Explorer " icons [message #1818403] Sat, 14 December 2019 09:34 Go to next message

Here is what Mrs Google said after asked
" Eclipse CDT icons"

This is a reference with no relations to icons .
https://www.eclipse.org/documentation/

And this , but it is all about "git"
https://theprogrammersfirst.blogspot.com/2017/

The question :

is there a documentation published BY ECLIPSE describing meaning of "Project Explorer" icons?

(Correct) link would be sufficient.

Did you try the help documentation?
https://help.eclipse.org/2019-09/index.jsp?topic=%2Forg.eclipse.cdt.doc.user%2Freference%2Fcdt_u_project_explorer_view.htm&cp=11_4_0_2

The root of all help documentation is here
and old links will be resolved to here.
https://www.eclipse.org/documentation/
You should learn to use it.

For the most part, the icons are self-explanatory.
They will also change depending on plugins you have installed.

SOLVED
Looks as "terminate and relaunch " launch option fixed the issue.
I won't even guess why.

Disregard - it has nothing to do with "warning".
The project does not get updated until it is closed / opened.
It looks as wrong workspace is being "refresh".

Could somebody help me to VERIFY the following?
Even with option -w set ( inhibit all warnings ) I get warnings in "Problems" .

Each warning has an icon - yellow triangle with exclamation (!) symbol inside.
Same symbol is attached to (tree) root symbol of the project.
In lower left corner.

When I edit my code and proceed to "Build Project" and eventually Run TCF the last editing changes I have made DO NOT take.
Not until I "Close project" and "Open project" - then the "warning icon " (?) goes away and my project will run with the latest changes.
As soon as I go back to editing - the "warning icon" comes back.

I did run a test program without "warnings" and have no similar issue with it.
I did installed clean 2019-09 Eclipse and having SAME issue.

I am not asking for solution, just asking if somebody could be nice and verify this so I quit chasing ghosts.

I don't think I've ever before encountered anyone with your stream of bad luck.
Now you claim a problem sans any particulars and are asking us to

  • verify you are having it?
  • And you don't want a solution?

What??

Also, what does this have to do with your original post?
If nothing, then it should be a new topic.

You'll have better luck getting answers if you are more specific.
For example, showing the error your are getting.
