Hey,

I got a problem with adding a git project into eclipse.
I used the newest PHP Eclipse Version with EGit.

The Problem is that when I try to import the project
(Import projects... -> Git -> Projects from Git -> Clone URI -> fill information)
it gets stuck on "Getting remote branches information".
I can't cancel it and I have to manually kill the eclipse process.

Things I already tried:
- The Git Project works, I can clone it from console
- Reinstalling Eclipse (manually and with installer)
- Changing Java Version (OpenJDK 8 & 11)
- Changing Eclipse Version to Java IDE
- Changing Eclipse install directory
- Changing Workspace
- changed between ssh and https, both didn't work
- used project from gitlab.com, couldnt import
- Cloning the project manually from console and add it as existing local repo, my whole pc just froze

The only thing that works is when I start eclipse as admin, then the project gets added. But then I have other problems because I started it as admin. And when I restart eclipse as normal user with the imported project, it freezes after a few seconds.

I'm really at my end here.
Hope you can help.

Btw: I use Ubuntu 18.04 LTS if it matters

Greetings
Philip

Might be bug 548598. Try updating to EGit nightly.
