Initializing Java Tooling after starting Eclipse [message #335832]

Hello,

sometimes I observe the info 'Initialising Java Tooling' after starting
Eclipse.

What does this message mean, what is "Java Tooling"?
On which circumstances is this process required and running after starting
Eclipse?
How can this process be deactivated?

Thomas,

If you have JDT installed it will do some initialization in the
beginning in order to be ready to deal with your Java projects. Don't
install JDT if you don't need it. Of course most of the packages come
with JDT installed...

What are JDT; when are they required (and when not)?
How can I determine, whether JDT are installed?
How can I uninstall them, if they are installed?

JDT is the java compiler. If you do no java development or debugging at
all then you don't need JDT.

If you are using the Eclipse as an IDE then you probably will doing java
or starting java applications.
