Cannot connect to Debugger (i.e. SDM) [message #1801522] |

I am a user of Eclipse Photon (June 2018) mostly for parallel C++ programming. When I tried to launch parallel debugging, "Progress Information" window is popped up and shows "Operation in Progress". However, it is stuck. If I click the cancel button, Launch Error show Reason: "Cannot connect to Debugger".
I am doing this on my local system. My Eclipse has PTP by installing new software from Help -> Install New Software. On terminal, I did "which sdm" but couldn't find it.
1) Do I have to install SDM separately?
2) If I have to do, where can I get it and how and where do I install it?
3) If PTP already installs it, where can I find it?
4) Is there any other option for Eclipse users to use parallel debuggers?
In advance, thank you very much for your comments.
Evan

Hi Evan,
I have the same problem. I have found the sdm debugger burried in the eclipse file structure, so I know I have sdm. I have tried launching eclipse with sudo and the command line option --allow-run-as-root and it still hangs at the same place as your process.
Have you found a solution yet? Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Tony...
