artifacts.xml file is misplaced when using -configuration parameter [message #333765]

Eclipse User

My system is Windows Vista Ultimate.

eclipse.ini contains:
-configuration
@user.home/AppData/Roaming/eclipse-3.4.1/configuration

This directory is correctly created on first startup of eclipse.exe.

However there is a second directory created
"@user.home/AppData/Roaming/eclipse" (note that the version is missing)
that contains only the file artifacts.xml.

Am I missing something or is it a bug?

The problem was that
eclipse-installation-dir/configuration/config.ini#eclipse.p2 .data.area
pointed to @config.dir (as default).
