Hi everyone,

i am beginner with scount and start using Scout by following the HelloWorld tutorial. Everything works fine until i tried to run "dev server.launch" and "dev ui.launch". Error occured in Eclipse with following message

Launch configuration [webapp] dev server references non-existing project helloworld.server.app.dev.

i did nothing else except following the tutorial. Before launching the server, i have build all the HellowWorld projects with "maven install". Did anyone have the same problem? Can someone help me here? Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Yao

When you start from Eclipse, no maven build is requested. It should just work.
From your screenshot I see the "helloworld.server.app.dev" project, so I can not explain why Eclipse says it is "non-existing"

Which version from Scout and from Eclipse are you using?
What is your OS?

Thanks for your reply. I am using Eclipse for Scout Developer, version Neon.2 Release (4.6.2) in Windows 7.

I tried to build another new scout project and get the following warning while building

Can this be the reason?

I have a really similar setup and it works on my machine.

In your screenshot, I have noticed that the java nature is missing on your projects:

index.php/fa/28403/0/

Maybe you select them in the Package Explorer and press ALT+F5 to run the "Update Maven Project" function.

The "src" Folder should have an "source" icon.

The Artifact used by Eclipse IDE for Scout project creation is here:

http://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/org/eclipse/scout/archetypes/scout-helloworld-app/

Can you connect to maven central?

yea, you are right. somehow is this scout project not considered as a java project. "Update Maven Project" did't help. Is there anythint wrong with java settings in eclipse scout? where can i see these settings? i have installed jdk 1.8 on my computer.

I do not know why Eclipse is not regonizing your projets.

A long time ago, I have pushed the hello-world application created by Eclipse in a GitHub Repo:
https://github.com/jmini/scout-helloworld

In each project you should compare:
* the .project file (should contains a java nature and a java buildCommand)
* the .classpath file
* the *.prefs files under ".settings/"
