Some quick questions:

I need a stability version of Android SDK, where do I download that?

Does Eclipse Mars have a build-in Android Emulator or is it a plugin that I need to download?

There has been some chat on the internet that Eclipse might discontinue support for Android-related plug-ins in favor of Google' Android Studio (the suggestion was that I drop Eclipse for Android Studio). Does anyone know something more concrete about this, I'd like to stay with Eclipse now that I am a bit more familiar with it?

It always pays to read the sticky posts at forum's top first. In
particular this one:

https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/225513/

As to your second question, the answer is sort of the one I just gave.
Eclipse hasn't "dropped" Android support, it never provided it in the
first place. Android support in the past was create as a set of
third-party plug-ins for Eclipse (not by Eclipse).

There seems to be a lot of noise around using IntelliJ IDEA for Android
development, but again, you'll have to research that yourself. It's not
really an Eclipse question. (And, though I developed Android under
Eclipse 5 years ago, I haven't done it recently nor do I do it on IDEA.)

Best of luck,
Russ

Thanks, I was going through those links, but I also wanted to know what you guys think.

Actually my question was badly phrased.

I ought to have asked first whether there is an Android Emulator,
and if so whether, can I download Android SDK to exist alongside J2SDK
such that the Android Emulator will access the Android SDK and
non-Android Mars Java apps would access J2sdk 1.7.0

Again, here is not where to ask.

There was an Android emulator (and SDK) at least as late as Helios
because I used it. I wouldn't be surprised that it works or doesn't work
on Mars. You'll just have to ask in an Android forum.

So, we don't think or have much of an opinion because this is an
Eclipse--not Android--forum.

Take note of the Andmore project mentioned in the Announcement message that Russel mentioned; it's an official eclipse.org project that provides tools for Android development; an alternative to ADT and Android Studio.
