One thing I have been looking into is source file encryption. With the
number of laptops with customer data being stolen, I have been thinking
about the number of laptops with source code that may be stolen. Many of
the developers where I work check out the entire source tree for working
at home. This is a potential problem if a laptop is stolen. It seems
that there should be a way to store the files in eclipse in an encrypted
format and require a password on eclipse startup to access them. A thief
would see encrypted files when browsing the hard drive but the
unencrypted file would be available in eclipse after login.
Does anyone know if there are plans to add this functionality to eclipse
either natively or via a plugin?

Wouldn't it be simpler, better, and more reliable to just encrypt the entire
drive, using the already-existing functionality available in the operating
system? E.g., for Windows XP, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307877, or I
believe there are also third-party utilities that do this.
