Red box w/white X decorator in Synchronize view? [message #319678] Wed, 29 August 2007 17:28 Go to next message

Under my Team Synchronize perspective, in the Synchronize view, two of my
projects' top-level folders (both RadRails projects) are decorated with a
white X in a red box. I've googled incessantly but can't find out what
that means, and Mark from Subclipse says it's not Subclipse doing it. It
doesn't show in any other view that I can find. Anyone have an idea?

Corollary: I got the impression from reading the API that decorators have
a description field that's supposed to be displayed when you hover over
them. That doesn't work for me; has it ever worked? Is there another way
to see who's providing a given decorator?

Mac OS X 10.4.10, Eclipse Europa, Aptana M9, RadRails M5, Subclipse 1.2.4,
fully updated

Is it the same decorator that appears on a file/class/element with build
(compile) errors? New in 3.3 (I think) the Synchronize view shows error
markers just like other views.

Hope this helps,
Eric

Ah hah! Thanks, that was the clue. I'm using Ruby, so there shouldn't be
any compile errors - or so I thought. Turns out RDT/RadRails actually
does decorate files with a syntax error, but for some reason that
decoration doesn't show up in Navigator. Project Explorer (which I have
no use for) DOES display it, however, and so does Team Synchronize.

The Navigator view does not show these decorations for Java files
either,so RDT is not alone.

This explains why you were confused though. When you
previouslymentioned Navigator, I was just thinking you meant a view
provided by
RDT.
