[Xtext] Start/use generated DSL editor [message #31494] Wed, 11 March 2009 14:39 Go to next message

Hi @all,

I am new to TMF Xtext. I have already used oAW Xtext to develop domain
specific languages. To use TMF Xtext, I downloaded latest SDK and runtime
and placed them in the dropins folder of eclipse. Then, I created a new
Xtext Project. Xtext creates an example grammar. So, I started
MydslGenerator.java to generate the artefacts.

The question is how to start/use the generated DSL editor.

Thanks
ILyas

I ran the UI plugin as an Eclipse Application. There was no DSL specific
project, so I created a Java Project to test the generated editor.

Hi Ilyas,

the wizard has been changed drastically in the last few days.
I'ld suggest you wait until beginning of next week, when the M6 builds
are there. We'll also provide a complete Eclipse distro then, which
should make trying TMF xtext very easy. With that setup starting the
editor should be simply be possible by starting a new runtime workbench
or export the plugins and use them.

regards,
Sven

Hi Sven,

thanks for your answer. I will try it with M6 builds.
