Contributors Activity

Introduction

The following people are leaders, committers, and contributors to the Eclipse Web Tools Platform project. The list is sorted into four groups: extremely active, very active, active, and inactive. The groupings are strictly merit-based: the more you contribute, the more recognition you earn. Within each group, the people are listed alphabetically.

If you are a contributor and have been missed from the list, or are in the wrong grouping, please get your team lead to let us know.

Extremely Active Contributors

An extremely active contributor is a full-time leader or committer, or someone on their way to becoming a committer.

    Angel is a committer for the Server Tools components of WTP.

    Angel is a developer working for Rational Application Developer in the Server Tools team at the IBM Toronto Lab. His team develops the Universal Test Client, the WebSphere Test Environment and other tools to integrate WebSphere Application Server and Rational tooling. Angel has publish a number of articles related to Eclipse and Rational tooling Running the WebSphere Studio help system remotely and Develop a Faces JSR 168 portlet using IBM Rational Application Developer 6.0 for autonomic computing

    Valentin currently works on the WSDL model and related items.

    Cameron is a Senior Software Engineer in the JDeveloper Group at Oracle, focussing on JSF tooling.

    Before joining Oracle, Cameron was an original developer on RIM's 'Blackberry MDS Studio' tool for rapidly creating Web Services-based wireless applications.

  • Chuck Bridgham, IBM - Component or Subproject Lead

    Chuck is a lead and committer for the J2EE Tools components of WTP.

    Chuck is the development manager of the Rational J2EE Tools team at the IBM Raleigh Lab. This team is responsible for the core tooling involved with creating, editing, and assembling J2EE artifacts (EJB/WAR/EAR...). This team will also contribute many of the same core technologies to WTP including Project Navigator, Validation Framework, and core J2EE model/resources. Chuck has spent the last 10 years at IBM on several projects focusing on object persistence and mapping (IBM Smalltalk/VA Java/Eclipse).

  • Kathy Chan, IBM - Component or Subproject Lead

    Kathy is the sub project lead and a committer for the Web Services Tools components of the Eclipse Web Tools Platform project.

    Kathy Chan is an Advisory Software Engineer on the Rational Java Web Services Tools team, working for IBM Rational Software at the IBM Toronto Lab. She is the component lead for the Web Services subproject in the Eclipse Web Tools Platform project. Since 2000, she had been active in the development of Web services tools in IBM's WebSphere Studio and Rational Developer products. She had been involved with the Web services component in the Eclipse Web Tools Platform since it's inception. She has demonstrated Web services tools in conferences, in online Webcasts and to customers. Prior to working on Web services, she was involved in the planning, development and testing of various development tools in IBM. She has a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a M.B.A. from York University.

    Keith is a committer for the XML Tools components.

    Keith is a software developer working on the XML Web Services team at the IBM Toronto Lab. He has worked on XML Tools for WebSphere Studio and Rational Application Developer. His development focus is on the XML Schema and WSDL Graphical Editors.

  • Nitin Dahyabhai, IBM - Component or Subproject Lead

    Nitin is the lead of the Source Editing subproject of WTP. It contains editors based on the SSE framework, where he spends most of his time, as well as the JavaScript Development Tools. He is also the primary developer of the Snippets view.

    Nitin leads the Source Editing subproject of WTP . He has worked on the SSE editors since their inception. Nitin previously worked on the Visual Composition Editor in IBM's VisualAge for Java. He holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from N.C. State University. He has also been known to watch many, many, people in Bugzilla and can often be found "lurking" in numerous Eclipse-related IRC channels.

  • Naci Dai, eteration - PMC Member

    Naci is a member of the WTP project PMC with and the project lead for the JST subproject.

    Naci is the Chief Scientist/Managing director of eteration, a.s. Turkey. Naci Dai is an object mentor and an educator. He is the founder of ObjectLearn and one of the initiators of the eteration network. He wrote Lomboz, a tool for J2EE development.

    Prior to eteration, he was with BEA Systems Inc. and The Object People as a managing director with their professional services organizations. He teaches object technology, web development, and distributed computing. His background is in applied engineering and computational physics. He has received his Ph.D. from Carleton University, Ottawa Canada. Eteration is a member of the ObjectWeb Consortium.

  • Tim deBoer, IBM - Component or Subproject Lead

    Tim is a lead and committer for the Server Tools components of WTP.

    Tim is the technical leader of the WebSphere Application Server Toolkit, Server Tools team at the IBM Toronto Lab. His team develops the WebSphere Test Environment, Tomcat support, and EJB test client which are included in the WebSphere Studio family of products. He's also the developer of CodeRally and CodeRuler, two Java programming games based on Eclipse.

  • Bob Fraser, BEA - Committer

    Bob is working on the conversion of the WebTools Web site to the Phoenix look and feel and general Web site development.

    Bob Fraser is a product manager at BEA Systems responsible for the development of the Eclipse-based Workshop product family. He is active in the Eclipse community as a member of the requirements council and chair of the User Interface Best Practices Working Group.

  • Bob Goodman, IBM - Component or Subproject Lead

    Bob is the leader of the AJAX Tools Framework (ATF) incubator project in WTP.

    Robert (Bob) Goodman is a Software Engineer in Emerging Technologies division of the IBM software Group. He started his career at IBM working on Object Oriented Programming and IBM WebSphere. More recently he has work on Web Services for pervasive devices and tooling for PHP. He is now working on the AJAX Tools.

    Neil leads the JPA Tools (JPT) subproject of WTP and is also a member of the PMC.

    Neil is a principal software developer at Oracle, where he is the development lead for Oracle TopLink Tools.

    Larry contributes to the Tomcat server support portion of Server Tools.

    Larry is the team lead for server-side development in the Java Development Environments Department at SAS Institute, Inc. He has also been a contributor to the Apache Jakarta Tomcat project, including serving as a release manager for Tomcat 3.3.

  • John Lanuti, IBM - Committer

    John contributes to the J2EE tools. He has been working with Naci since the early days to bring him up to speed on the wizard frameworks we have available and to refine the EJB creation wizards that Naci has contributed. He's also been worked on the integration points that we have with Web Services, including work to maintain separate streams when necessary as we started to break some of original Nature/Edit model frameworks to make them "flexible project friendly".

    Peter is a contributor to the Web Services component of the Eclipse Web Tools Platform project.

    Peter has worked on various software development projects at IBM for the last 17 years. Some of the projects he has worked on are: Ada Compiler development, PCMCIA device driver development, Mwave DSP tools development, and Object Builder development. For the last three years Peter has worked on the Web Services component of IBM's Websphere Studio products. He has also implemented the Environment Command Framework and the Dynamic Wizard Framework.

    Javier is a committer on the AJAX Tools Framework (ATF) incubator project in WTP.

    Javier Pedemonte is a Software Engineer in the Emerging Technologies division of IBM Software Group. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. Since joining IBM in 1999, he has been working on web browser and browser-related technologies, particularly as a contributor the the open-source Mozilla and Firefox projects. Most recently, he has been involved with AJAX technologies and Eclipse tooling.

    Adam is a committer on the AJAX Tools Framework (ATF) incubator project in WTP.

    Adam lives outside Boston, Mass. USA and works in the Emerging Internet Technologies group at IBM. Since joining IBM in 1996, he has worked primarily in Java and web-based technologies, with a focus on rich client UIs. Adam is also a committer to the Dojo Toolkit .

  • Kaloyan Raev, SAP - Committer

    Kaloyan is a committer for the Java EE Tools and EJB Tools components of the Eclipse Web Tools Platform project.

    Kaloyan Raev is working for SAP Labs Bulgaria, in the SAP NetWeaver division. After years of working on core modules of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server, he is now aligning the Java EE toolset of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio with the Eclipse WTP project.

  • Raghu Srinivasan, Oracle - PMC Member

    Raghu leads the JavaServer Faces Tools subproject of the WTP project and is a member of the PMC.

    Raghu is a software development manager in the JDeveloper Group at Oracle where he is responsible for Eclipse projects. As a Development Manager at PeopleSoft, he lead a team to build the next-generation IDE based on the Eclipse Platform. Prior to Oracle, Raghu was Director of Developent at Versata Inc, where he was responsible for their J2EE-based Business Logic Development tool.

  • David Williams, IBM - PMC Lead

    David is a committer for editors in the project (XML, HTML, CSS, JSP, and JavaScript), and serves on the WTP and EMO Architecture Group.

    David assumed leadership of the Web Standard Tools subproject for the WTP 2.0 release.

    David is a senior programmer/team-lead at IBM’s RTP Lab. For the past 4 years he has been responsible for the family of "Structured Source Editors" in the WebSphere Studio line of products (this includes source editing for XML, HTML, JSP, CSS, and JavaScript). Prior to this, he was a lab-based service consultant, directly helping IBM’s customers adapt object oriented technology (using Smalltalk and then later Java) and design web-based applications.

    Prior to that, he worked on VisualAge for Java Components for Image Processing software, and prior to that he was responsible for Human Factors/Usability of a number of IBM Products. He has an MA in Quantitative/Cognitive Science from University of Colorado at Boulder. In his spare time he enjoys reading other's code and fixing their bugs they never even knew they had.

    Amy contributes to the SSE components of WTP.

    Amy works on the whole family of WTP Editors, most recently specializing in preferences, hyperlinks, and folding in XML, JSP, HTML, CSS, and DTD editors.

A very active contributor is a frequent contributor of bug reports, patches, articles, dicussions, or advice.

  • Gilbert Andrews, IBM - Contributor

    Gil is a contributor to the Web Services Tools components of the Eclipse Web Tools Platform project.

    Gil Andrews is a software developer on the Rational Java Web Services Tools team at the IBM Toronto Lab. Gil has worked on the Web services tools since 2000. His areas of expertise include the Generated Sample JSP Test Client and the Web Services Explorer.

    Pieter is the ecosystem lead for WTP.

    Pieter Humphrey has been at BEA for 5 years, working in technical sales and product marketing to help customers understand and apply our technology. In his current role of BEA Workshop Product Marketing, Pieter focuses on application development tools, Eclipse, and the general concept of blended source at BEA: the intersection of open source and commercial software.

    Gerry is a committer for the JavaServer Faces Tools project.

    Gerry is a software developer for the JDeveloper Group at Oracle and has 16 years experience in application and tools development. Prior to Oracle he worked for Peoplesoft, Versata and Blyth Software.

    David is a software developer on the IBM Rational XML Web Services Team. He is responsible for the WS-I Test Tools.

    Dirk is a committer in the Data Tools component of WST. He contributed support for MySQL and is planning to contribute support for PostgreSQL.

    Dirk works on database access tools at Versant.

    Sachin is the lead developer for the Apache Geronimo Development Tools Subproject which provides intergration with WTP.

    Sachin Patel is a committer and PMC member on Apache Geronimo. Prior to that he held lead a lead devlopment role in WebSphere Application Server Toolkit focusing on server integration and annotation processing.

    Ian is a committer for the JavaServer Faces Tools project.

    Ian is a Software Developer for the JDeveloper Group at Oracle Corporation Canada, Inc. Prior to working with Oracle, Ian held software developer positions at PeopleSoft and Versata, Inc., where he primarily worked with EMF and client-side technologies (Servlets, JSP, Struts).

Active Contributors

An active contributor is someone who occasionally makes valuable contributions.

  • Saurabh Agarwal, IBM - Contributor

    Saurabh contributes to the J2EE tools. He is working on the Common Navigator, and has contributed alot of code for the working sets feature. He's been stablizing a lot of the refactoring and redesign effort that went into the Common Navigator during the early phases of WTP. Saurabh has also been one of the heaviest contributors of J2EE tools JUnit API test.

    Neeraj has contributed heavily to the using and providing feedback on the Flexible Project virtual path API while implementing alot of the component creation operations and wizards.

    Brad contributes to the J2EE tools. He has been very involved in the integration with Server Tools, which means he has contributed feedback to the Server Tools API along with our implementation of things like "Run on Server", while also using the Virtual Path API and the ArtifactEdit API. Brad also contributed to some of the early documentation while the Artifact Edit API was still forming.

    Dave is working on robustness and finalization of the XML editor family, with particular focus on XML Schema design and validation. When time permits, he works on testing and writing a tutorial for building a Web Services application using the full suite of WTP editors.
