Hi,
I installed TM using update site.

I extracted comm.jar, RXTXcomm.jar, rxtx*.dll and created text file as given
in a README.txt.

When I choose Serial as my connection type, I can not see the port in combo
box.
I can use Hyperterminal with the current configuration but I can not see
the Port in the combo box.
So, I can not connect.

What's the problem here? Except Port, everything seems OK.

First question is, do you want / need javax.comm?

If not, better use the rxtx-2.1 implementation which is available since
I20070118-0400
http://download.eclipse.org/dsdp/tm/downloads/drops/I2007011 8-0400/index.php
It means uninstalling javax.comm and getting rxtx-2.1 as shown in the
new instructions.

Do you have Eclipse SDK? - If yes, try to import the team project set
http://www.eclipse.org/dsdp/tm/development/terminal-anonymou s.psf
(save to a file, then do File > Import > Team > Team Project Set).

You will get a few eclipse projects out of CVS, inluding
org.eclipse.tm.terminal.serial
Switch to the R1_0_1 tag if you want to work on the old version, otherwise
use HEAD for rxtx-2.1. If you installed javacomm into your JVM properly,
you should not see an error marker and you should see the comm.jar
or RXTXcomm.jar library below the "Referenced Libraries" of the project.

I had a similar problem which was fixed by using the version in the link
above.

My problem was caused because I didn't realise that the TM Terminal view
version I was using was too old to operate with the rxtx serial drivers.

I know that the installation notes state "This README is for terminal.serial
version 0.9.100 and later, corresponding
to RSE downloads after 2.0M4", but for anyone like me who failed to
understand the (obvious now) implications, this means that 2.0M4 and earlier
builds _do_not_ work with rxtx.

I wanted to use the Terminal view with Eclipse on a Windows XP workstation
and this worked for me:

ftp://ftp.qbang.org/pub/rxtx/rxtx-2.1-7-bins-r2.zip

Copy RXTXcomm.jar from the rxtx zip file into $JRE/lib/ext
Copy the rxtxSerial.dll file to $JRE/bin
Extract the Eclipse package to your Eclipse installation folder
