Approved Revisions to the Intellectual
Property (IP) Policy
As communicated to our members earlier this year as well as illustrated in the teleconference presentation "IP Due Diligence: Modernizing our Processes" (slides / recording / issue), revisions to the Eclipse Foundation’s Intellectual Property Policy were approved by the board of directors on June 29, 2022.
These revisions will bring the Eclipse Foundation's due diligence processes related to IP in line with current industry best practices while improving our ability to scale, thus reducing the IP due diligence burden on our projects, committers, and staff.
The new version of the IP Policy (version 8.0) becomes effective on July 29, 2022.

JakartaOne Livestream is a one-day virtual conference for developers and technical-minded business professionals. We provide insights into Jakarta EE’s development processes, as well as a sneak peek into what the future may hold.
We will host three regional, language-specific live streams:
This is our third year of hosting these localized events. We wish to thank our members involved in these events for their efforts in driving awareness of the Jakarta EE ecosystem by organizing these events. Be sure to save the date for your preferred event.
And as a reminder, our flagship JakartaOne Livestream is scheduled for December 6, 2022. More details will follow in the fall.
Next SDV Contribution Day Set for September 22, 2022
Our first ever SDV Contribution Day took place in June and was well regarded by the community. If you missed this event, check out the recordings on our YouTube channel.
To continue to build on the success, a follow-up event has been scheduled for September 22, 2022. Additional details will be announced shortly on the SDV website. For now, please save the date.
2022 Annual Community Report
This past year has been one of exceptional growth for the Eclipse Foundation. We have been joined by many newprojects, working groups, members, and committers.
As you will see in the 2022 Annual Community Report, the Eclipse Foundation community has achieved great things over the past year. The community report identifies many of these accomplishments.
We hope the Annual Community Report is useful to you in summarizing the Foundation’s activities and progress.
Coming Soon: Interest Groups
The Eclipse Foundation’s board of directors approved the introduction of an Interest Group Process at its June 2022 Board meetings.
The Interest Group Process is the next step in furthering the Eclipse Foundation’s governance framework to enable “innovation through collaboration” by empowering members to work together using a lighter-weight organizational structure.
More detail on interest groups will be published in the coming months, and the new process will be implemented beginning in Q4 2022.
Annual General Assembly Meeting

The AGA of Eclipse Foundation AISBL was held on July 20, 2022, at Eclipse Foundation’s operating office in Ottawa, as well as via Zoom.
At the meeting, the general assembly approved the (re)appointment of the board of directors, the 2021 audited financial statements, and the 2022 budget.
