Testimonials

Thanks to our members, sponsors, and a global network of over 15,000 contributors, the Eclipse Foundation stewards more than 400 commercial-ready, open source projects, powering industries and products around the world.

“The Eclipse Foundation has a long history of providing a strong, collaborative culture supporting open source-licensed projects, and many of those projects are important to Microsoft, our partners, and our customers. It is important for Microsoft to support the organisation that supports those projects, and to work within the organisation towards those collective goals.”

Which membership level is right for my organisation?

It depends on your goals.

  • Associate is ideal for organisations getting started
  • Contributing is for active participation in projects and collaborations
  • Strategic is for organisations looking to lead, influence governance, and drive industry direction
Can we upgrade our membership later?

Yes. Many organisations start at one level and upgrade as their involvement grows.

Do we need to contribute code to become a member?

No. While many members actively contribute to projects, membership is open to organisations that want to collaborate, influence, and support the ecosystem in different ways.

What is the Member Portal?

The Eclipse Foundation Member Portal gives your organisation visibility into its participation across the ecosystem. Track your involvement in projects and industry collaborations, and access resources and tools designed to support your engagement.

Do we need to join a working group?

No, but many members choose to participate in working groups to collaborate more closely on specific technologies and industry initiatives.

What is Eclipse Foundation AISBL?

Eclipse Foundation AISBL is the Foundation’s European-based legal entity. Most new members join through AISBL, which offers the same benefits as the original U.S.-based organisation.
