Subject: Re: [ConfigJSR-experts] Kick off Jakarta Config
Thanks for the invitation. I am definitely interested not only because Jakarta NoSQL and JNoSQL are currently using MP config and would naturally migrate to Jakarta Config so there is at least one downstream project to
immediately give everything a reality check while it evolves.
I also copied Phil and Aaron who were reasonably active in Apache Tamaya before the limited number of committers in the PMC and lower delivery cycle caused the Apache board and mentors to recommend retiring, which happened
about a year ago: http://incubator.apache.org/projects/tamaya.html
Nevertheless like a few others involved in the Jakarta platform project, it developed some ideas that may benefit so if either Phil or Aaron have enough time and the necessary paperwork (like ECA) I hope you could also
invite them to participate.
Hope this email finds you well! You may recall that when we withdrew ConfigJSR from JCP, we shared the view that this spec is better off in Jakarta. Now, it's the time. We plan to kick off the effort of creating Jakarta
Config by moving MicroProfile Config and then evolve this spec from the Jakarta land.
Please let me know whether you are still interested in participating in this new initiative.
