Hi,

Can someone show me how to use RSE SDK to
launch the terminal window programmally?
I installed RSE 3.0.1

Can I use org.eclipse.rse.internal.services.terminals package?

How do I get ITerminalService handle from program?

Great thanks !

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

If you use the RSE-Terminals integration, it should be possible
to send an Eclipse Command (the equivalent of a keystroke). The
corresponding handler is declared in
org.eclipse.rse.terminals.ui/plugin.xml
looking at the handler's code should help.

If you want to use the plain TM-Terminal, the code for opening
it programmatically is in the works but has not yet been
committed (it will be committed soon). For details, see
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=185348

Cheers,

Hi Martin,

Do you have sample code to show how to use tm.terminal API (3.1M5 build)
to launch a terminal window?

I am trying to launch a terminal window for a emulation device (unix
process) in the remote host, to run CLI commands in terminal window.

Instead of launching terminal view tab through RSE, can I invoke
TM-terminal API directly here?

Great thanks.

Regards,
Wendy

Hi Wendy,

sorry but the code didn't make it into M5. For details, please see the
bug. When you create a bugzilla account, you can also register for CC
on the bug, so you'll get notified when anything changes.
