C# plugin for Eclipse? [message #296336] Tue, 20 December 2005 21:42 Go to next message

Is there a reliable plugin for Eclipse so that C# program files can be
created, compiled, and debugged?

Also where would I install the plugin in Eclipse, if it is a jar file, for
example?

Thanks for the link. I followed the installation instructions on this
webpage,
http://www.improve-technologies.com/alpha/ressources/usingTh eUpdateManager.html
and Eclipse now recognises my .cs files as C#, however when I click on the
red square that now appears along the far right end of the icon tool bar
an error box pops up which says "Before building your source code, you
have to specify the location of the C# compiler."

Where do I go in Eclipse to specify the location of the C# compiler?

(I'm sure the software from the above website was downloaded to a folder
within the plugins folder in eclipse.)

Thanks. I set the C# compiler path to
C:\Eclipse\eclipse\plugins\fr.improve.csharp.ui_2.0.1\CSharp UI.jar
or
C:\Eclipse\eclipse\plugins\fr.improve.csharp.ui_2.0.1\src\fr \improve\csharp\ui\internal\Compiler.properties

but nothing happens when I click on the red square. Are neither of these
the compiler file for C#? What would the file extention be for the
compiler?

(*If one of the files above is the right one, would I then run & debug it
like Java files?)
