Requirement is
Only one type of element(Node) exists in the Editor
Editor has to show nodes and connections between nodes

I dont want to start from ecore to create diagram file
Already generated model is present

Is the Graphiti the best technology to use?

Kalpana,

Graphiti should be well suited for your usecase. Have you seen and tried the
"Plug-in with a Graphiti Editor" wizard? It is part of the create "New
Plug-in Project" wizard and will allow to add all classes needed for a
simple diagram editor based on EClasses in you ecore models installed in
your IDE. Simply start the new plug-in project wizard, click next until you
reach the templates page and select the Graphiti editor template.
